Beautiful wavy lines on wings. I checked several websites and found conflicting results. I finalized that 'Scopula sp.'is the species of this moth.

Order: LEPIDOPTERA
Super family: Geometroidea
Family: GEOMETRIDAE
Most of the Caterpillars in family GEOMETRIDAE only have one or two pair of prolegs. The caterpillars move with curving their bodies into loops. This is why they commonly called Loopers. They are also known as Inch Worms because they apparently measuring off one inch at a time as they move. Some of them are called Twig Caterpillars because their resting posture look like a twig.

Their adults are medium to large size. Most of the adult moths have camouflaged wing patterns. These patterns are usually wavy lines extend across both fore and hind wings. These moths rest with a standard posture, holding wings outspread and tightly pressed against the surface on which they are sitting. This eliminates the shadow as well as the wings outline for a better camouflaged posture. Most GEOMETRIDAE moths are active at night.

Subfamily: STERRHINAE
Moths in this subfamily are medium to small in size. They usually pink or yellow in colour.

Species: Scopula sp.

Hi Jitti

A nicely composed shot. Good exposure and a dainty wing pattern. Good work. Thanks.

Hello Jitti,
nice lepidoter, I think it will camouflage really well on a white surface.
Well done and TSf

Hallo Jitti,
superb picture of this Geometride moth. The subtle wavy colour patterns are nicely shown. Recently, I took a picture of a very similar moth in Germany (perhaps I will show it later). Species belonging to this group of Geometridae are difficult to identify on the species level. Sometimes, it is impossible based on the colour pattern only and morphological examination is necessary. So don't get discouraged.
Thank you for this beautiful presentation.
Best wishes, Peter

HI
Nice moth
Would be nice to see a little more rotation on the composition just give it a different look.
A interesting moth.
Would have been easy to overexpose. You did well
:)

Bonjour,
Papillon très original.
Bonne journée.

Hi Jitti

A very beautiful capture here! This moth really looks great with those wavy lines as you say. I also love the contrast between her and the BG. Nice details and composition, too.

Hi Jitti,
You caught very nice details on this moth! This is a great POV and exposure which is not that easy to do with white subject. TFS,
Claudine

Hi Jitti,
An excellent macro on this moth. Although he really stands out well here, he would blend well on a tree trunk. You have really capture the intricate detail in the wings very well. Beautiful colors! Nice shot.
Scott

Hello Jitti,
i know this white angel very well. i have the photo of them, but not beautiful like yours. pov, colours, details all are very nice.

Hi JC!
The patterns on the wings of this moth have come out very well.
A well composed shot with the criss-cross of green leaves making an apt BG.
TFS and take care.
