Pixie Cup Lichen (Cladonia fimbriata)
One member of a very distinctive group of the lichens. The family are easy to spot with their little raised stalks with the cup like structures covered in fine grey/green scales, the edges/rim of these cups form the spore baring area of the lichen and turn brown when releasing the spores. The tallest of these is around 12mm tall
This group is on the same set of wooden planks as the ones I posted last year with the Sony F707, Click Here to compare the 2 Images.
This I shot in Raw only so for me it is a 1st

Hello Rob,
wonderful POV to get an really nice pixie view of this fungus landscape. This could be a shot for the fairy tale book. Very nice colors and great DOF. Very well composed.

Hi Rob
Wow, what a lovely landscape that comes to its full right when viewed in the large panorama format. Wild visions on fairies, gnomes and leprechauns hides behind every little corner, grass blade or lichen.
Very well seen, excellently captured, perfectly cropped and prepared for panorama format and TFS.
Regards
Loot

What a wonderful miniature world! Very clever and sharp panorama! Yes, the wonderful time for mosses and lichens is now approaching!
Many thanks, Ulla

Very nice! I like the macro panorama, not a style one sees very often. Good choice of subject, nice composition and depth of field. The only think I can see for improval would be to crop out the small twigs osn the R side of the frame and to have removed that stick int he background, but they are both small things. Nice job.

very nice composition.
Thanks for sharing

A lichen panorama, Robert? Now I've seen everything! Nicely done, though, good focus and exposure, and the panarama composition works surprisingly well. IMHO the green frame isn't the best choice.
Mike
