Very very close up mi fiends with impressive POV, showing the intimacy of the insects in all their splendor.
The very tight framing even dramatizes more the scene.
Great saturation of colors and sharpness besides a good achieved background.

This scene I have observed it many times. Isn't it impressive the way the female sympetrum is holding the male (red). You caught this moment wonderfully.

Indeed now is the time for dragonfly mating shots and you've done very well!
The details of your shot are superb, the POV excellent and DOF - great. The light on them looks very good, just like the tight crop, that works very well. I'm not sure about the framing though...but that's in fact a matter of one's taste :)

They flight and mate at the same time?! playing hard to get? haha.
Great capture at a perfect moment. The colours turned out pretty nice but i wonder how it would look like if you didn't use flash. And i feel that it's a little too bright on the tail of the left dragonfly. Maybe you could use PS to burn it a little. Just my thoughts.

Hallo Sabine,
welch ein komplexes Gefüge mit so vielen Farben und Einzelheiten, die vor dem dunklen Hintergrund auch noch besonders deutlich hervorkommen. Ich habe in einem Workshop versucht, den Blitzreflex zu minimieren (siehe greenpinkorange) und dabei aber die Farbintensitäten und die Gesamthelligkeit beizubehalten. Das bringt vielleicht ein wenig, oder?

Your fill flash works as spotlight to bring into sharp view this scene representing the eternal cycle of regeneration being enacted on the stage of life.
The posture looks like one from the Kamasutra, enacted to perfection!
Superb point of view, depth of focus and sharpness. The colours are brilliant.
