This time quite rare moth - Lemonia dumi. The moths are quite large - the maximum wingspan is 52 mm. The males flies during a day, the females - in the evening and night.
The caterpilars feeds on Taraxacum on hot and sunny places. After pupating - some of them goes out from pupa at the end of Septembar and at the begining of October. The rest owerwinters and can fly next year

You have to wonder why a species with such common food plants is declining - but in the UK the Garden Tiger Arctia caja has also declined dramatically, particularly in the south. Something strange is happening.. A new species to me - thanks.

Beautiful shot, with excellent , sharp detail and brilliant colours. BG is a bit distracting but I believe light conditions did not allow a wider aperture setting?
