[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
i took this shot on last night. With my headlamp, i decided take a look to the garden, then i heard a song from this guy and found him easily. These are always friendly insects, i took lots of shots. Yesterday, it was a rainy day, so you can see tiny drops on its face, wet face:-)

It is a Mediterranean Slant-faced Grasshopper (Acrida ungarica). Really a strange one especially its long and narrow face, but they looks so funny also, i like its big brown eyes on that slant face. Its body is slender and flat shaped, so it's really hard to catch these insects between the grasses. You can see its identification photo in the ws post.

Mediterranean Slant-faced Grasshopper - Acrida ungarica :

30-75 mm. Female much larger than male. Green or brown, sometimes with light and dark patterns and hard to see when it is sitting upright among the grasses. July-October, mainly in the damper grasslands. Mediterranean.

Infos are from Michael Chinery's "Wildlife of Britain and Europe"

Incroyable camouflage !
Bonne journée.

Hi Ersin,
This is a strange specimen! It looks like grass with eyes and legs, lol. It is the first time for me that I see one like this. What a funny wet face! You did really great by seeing it in the dark like this; I'm not sure that I would have seen it :) I can imagine this scene very well of you with your headlamp searching for insects in he dark and this idea makes me smile :) Ciao!

Nice closeup profile Ersin and composed well.
The subject looks great on black, stands out well.
Very good detail, color, DOF, and use of your flash..and at night! I think in the years I've been doing macro, I have one shot at night of a spider. Hats-off to ya :)
Nicely done & TFS!

Selam Ersin.
Yine acayip bir yaratık yine sizin bahçeden. Sanırım yakında sizin bahçeyi "ZOO" olarak ziyaret edebeliceğiz :). Şaka bir yana çok ilginç. Daha önce bu yaratığı gördüğümü hiç zannetmiyorum. Keşke bütün vücudunu göstermiş olsaydın. Ama böylesi de çok enteresan. Selam ve sevgilerimle.

Merhaba Ersin Bey,

Hello Ersin!

Great POV ;-) this is what I call picture of Alien :-) I know this creature - I didn't see it live, but remember photo from one of my books. Tight composition is great idea here.

I had to look at your workshop to get an idea about this songster, Ersin. I was a bit mystified when I looked at this image for the first time. I thought you had gone into abstract mode!
A wonderful and extra large macro of the face of this peculiar looking denizen of your garden. What a rich garden you have!

Hello Ersin,
this is a very nice picture. Great POV, sharpness, colours and composition. Thank you for posting.

Hi Ersin

I see we both like this "little" fellow :))
Indeed something very interesting to photograph :)
I like this close-up of his, with nice sharpness and good colors. Just as Howard pointed out, he looks great on the dark BG.
Good POV and DOF, too.
