Blackeyed Bulbul (Pycnonotus barbatus)(Swartoogtiptol)
The Bulbuls belong to the family Pycnonotidae.
Diet is fruit and inseects. Mainly found in evergreen forests and bush. The male and female look similar.
The Blackeyed Bulbul is characterised by by the dark crest and has no "eye ring". They are found in groups and frequent suburban gardens. They avoid evergreen forests.

Shooting data: Nikon D70; Sigma 170-500mm set at 380mm. ISO 500. USM and contrast in Photo Shop.

This is a very nice compo, details are sharp and the diagonal twig completes it. I can't see on the photo, does the black eye also have the yellow spot below the tail? Nice work Ben. Thanx.

Lovely Tippie. And I see he imitates the hornbill by resting the tummy on the perch. I like this shot, the detail is great on the feathers, and the BG works well!
