[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a rare form of the Ringlet (Aphantopus hyperanthus)where the eyespots are reduced to small light dots. It is know as form arete.
The ringlet butterfly is common in Sweden and most of Europe, but this form is rare in the S. of Sweden and I found on it Wild Thyme only a few meters from my house.
It is as dull in colour as it is exciting to find!

Hi Ivan
Interesting compostion; butterfly in a purple circle of flowers.
A little problem with sharpnes. Maybe you crop it to much? I have seen these form only one time :-)
Best regards

Hallo Ivan,
thank you for posting this peculiar form of hyperantus. You achieved good sharpness but this is partially counteracted by the high magnification/cropping? which probably also lead to the noisy background.
Best wishes, Peter

Cordiales saludos... Ricardo

Nice macro Ivan of this butterfly on the showy flowers.
I like POV, with good details on your head, with intense color and acceptable DOF.
Only I would criticize the existence of bottom noise, although I ignore the reason, since you used ISO100 in this case.
Cordial greetings... Ricardo

Hi Ivan,
Supeb shot. The exposure is spot on with the colors and detail looking excellent. The wild Thyme makes a great natural frame around it. Nice capture on this rare specimen.

Hi Ivan,
A highly welcome opportunity to get a chance to become acquainted with this forma of the A. hyperantus! Virtual butterfly-viewing is gold worth! Yes, I agree the size could be somewhat reduced in order to eliminate some of the noise - small can also be beautiful... that's always a tricky balance. You were lucky to get that lovely pinkish Thyme as a nicely contrasting background to the - as you say - dull colours of the main subject. Tvmfs this rarity!
Best regards,

Hi Ivan

Love the colour of the flowers here. Nice macro work. Well done!

This is very popular butterfy but I've never seen the form like that! It's really amazing. Thanks for sharing
