Another from my Lake District archives.

One of those lovely rare moments when the mist hangs in the valley bottom, I loved the effect of the trees and hills fading into the distance, and decided to zoom in to concentrate on this and exclude the horizon and foreground.

Rested on a tripod (using like a monopod) as it was very cold and I was conscious of risk of shivering affecting the shot!

PP - minor levels and contrast tweaks, saturation +5, resize, USM, border.

Hi Doug,
What a beautiful winter scenery. You've captured it really beautifully. The fog is giving the photo a tranquil atmosphere. The lighting in this photo is superb and I love the way it is reflection of the wet trees. Great details and exposure and I really like the bue-ish BG. Just a very stunning photo!

Nice shot. It has a nice spooky mood to it, well done.

It is one of those where you just wait for the headless horseman to come riding into the shot.

Well captured and TfS

Un bello paisaje Doug con una atmósfera de misterio, que transmite de paz muy bien captada.
Me agrada el encuadre elegido y su POV, con buen control de la luz y adecuado DOF.
Una escena de ensueño, sin dudas.

Hi Doug,

This really is a lovely shot. The mist makes this a very mystique picture. The focus is very sharp and I would love to know what camera and lens you used. Going to the Lake district is on my wish-list and I'll probably go there next September.

Hello Doug,

Wonderful shot. I love the mist and the muted colours. The trees are wonderfully sillouetted against the pale mist. Lovely composition.

opps PT all out

This is a gorgeous photo Doug. You acheived wonderful exposure for this possibly difficult shot. The bare trees emerging from the mist are so beautiful.

I really like the light shining on the mist, and the leafless trees in the foreground. It looks cold, but happy cold, as I think of it - with such a beautiful view and the sun shining. I like your perfect exposure, even with such contrasting areas.

Great job, well worth the freezing cold!

WOW, great photo Doug. Added to my favorites. TFS

Absolutely wonderful!!
It looks like a painting. Great sharpness of the trees too.
Only I don't understand to what is due the strange effect in the sky.
(Added to my favs)
Thanks, Enrico
