This Red Deer pair were standing silhouetted against the sun so I decided to make a feature of that and shot the image in B&W to illustrate the beautiful shapes of the deer. I liked the composition with the male and the female. I decided not to convert this to a full silhouette and to leave some of the deers features visable.

This shot was taken at Richmond today. I was sitting in the shadow of a tree to break up my shape and watch the deer. There was a fair amount of bellowing and chasing from the stags. I will post some more pictures over the next week.

Great picture, your decision on not to convert to a full silhouette is really good. I like it this way. Well done.

Hola Karan,
Es preciosa esta foto en b/w. una idea muy original. muchos saludos

Hello Karan,
very beautiful capture in black and white. This animal is always also impressive! Congratulation,

belle capture de noir et banc, les animaus sont un peu sombre dommage, mais bon travail

Hi Karan,
Aesthetic B&W picture. Nicely composed. Nice effect of wild grass at FG on the darker deers. It might need to brighten the deers slightly, or is it only in my screen?
Nice shot.

Hi Karan.

It's obvious that you've decided correctly 'cause we see a real piece of art here. I give 10 out of 10. Good shot indeed.

Well Done & TFS.

Hi Karan

Superb shot, the composition and pose are both excellent, I love the B&W and the fact you haven't converted the Deer to show a full silhoulette works really well. I been watching Autumnwatch all week with the Red Deer this looks like Maximus.

Hi Karan,
Superb capture! This is a really powerful shot. The POV and composition you chose is perfect. I like the silhouette and it's great that you kept some detail in the head area, i think that's the key to this shot! Great eye contact as well. Very well seen and executed!

Hi Karan

Splendid B&W work here with this impressive silhouette!
They both seem to be staring right at you, but the small female definately fades near this beautiful strong deer.
Great POV, nice sharp details ,very well framed and composed!
Very well done!

Bravo and TFS

Hi Karan, splend silhouette of Red Deer. I like your shot in B&W, the lighting on the grass is good. Well done, Didier.

Hi. Very impressive, you must have had good light to get such good contrast. look forward to seeing more.

Hi Karan,
What a beautiful photo. I just love the way the light reflects of the tip of her nose. Great to see there is still some texture in the silhoutte. Beautiful composition and great work on the B/W conversion.

Good morning Karan,
The details are nice, clear and sharp.
Good lighting. The POV is good.
Well composed and well framed.
Thanks for posting, enjoy the rest of the weekend.

Hi Karan,
I like this picture very much. This idea of making it in silhouette is good! Wat I like most here is the composition and POV with this nice soft grass in FG that looks very natural. You catch of both animals. This is very good :)! THanks,

Hello Karan, excellent capture which works beautifully in B&W. I may have burned a little more shadow in to the BG clouds in PS. Well done.

Hello Hester,
Beautiful animals! Even as silhouettes...
Over here it is hunting season now, so I hardly dare visit the forest for photography... They shoot at about everything that moves!
