[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Picture taken in Mashatu Game Reserve (an excellent park, in the Tuli block, bordering South Africa.
While we were sitting in the hide at groundlevel, this wardhog put it's snout trough the viewing slot...
PS: I blured the background a bit, the Sony was not very good at making a nice DOF... Plus levels on the body of "Pumba", to bring it's head out of th shadow. |

Wow! You were so lucky to be able to shoot this picture. It's so close! It's even a little bit frightening. Very nice warthog! I love the shiny wet mud on his back! Well done.
What an ugly (read good) picture !! How far where u away from him ??
I just posted one in the zoo, but this looks a lot better

Considering half the animal is in the shade you have done really well with the exposure. I assume its a wart hog.
Great POV and DOF, no problem with blurring the background. Its a good sharp shot, well done.

Saskia, very interesting shot and nice post process. POV and sharpness are just great, and like the pose a lot.
Congratulations.
This is my favourite pig!! I have seen them myself, in Kruger Park, SOuth Africa. But I have not a good picture, like this. Very good! When people say that only a whart hog mother can consider their kids beautiful, I get upset! Those warthogs are so cute! (But BIG!)
