One of the small number of attractive Noctuidae. It's very common in whole Europe - it's very easy to find it in cellars, attics and other places.
The maximum wingspan is 45 mm. I like especially the white spots on the legs but also the wings looks nice.

Green caterpilars can be found between Spring and Autumn on Salix and Populus plants.

The imago overwinters.

nice picture of libatrix. I recently also found the species and tried to obtain suitable pictures but was not satisfied by the results. Your picture shows the colours very well, in particular the 'burning' red.

Good and sharp shot of this beautiful moth with warm colours and very funny legs,like fanciful socks! I have to say that I find that every Noctuidae has something attractive, I like them all:-)
