[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Thanks for the warm welcome at treknature and the many comments to this picture. After many of you have asked for a note, I would like to add some words concerning the puffins:

Runde islande is one of my favorite places in Norway and this place is well known among nature photographers. The birds are not shy and it is easier to get very close to them compared to other places I have visited in Europe. The best time for watching these birds is between May and August. If you visit Runde in May you have also the chance to watch eagles. In July you might see many puffins with sandeels in the beak when feeding their kids. The best daytime to watch puffings is in the late evenings when they come back from the open water. With a little bit luck you get some warm light from the sunset and make a good shot.

Beautiful shot of these Puffins Klaus.
Light and colour is good.
I would probably have cropped the bottom just above the line on the rock, partly to bring the bird further down in the frame, and to avoid some of the out of focus area at the bottom.
I've done a workshop to show you what I would have done.I think you will notice it is a bit sharper with more detail visible.
(A note is usually required on TN too ... just a bit about the species or how you took the photo etc)

Nice shot Klaus Meyer.
Good compo but need crop more on bottom of pic to tighten on object.

excellent shot of the two lovely and loving puffins, klaus! :-)
terrific composition and poses, nice colors and well handled exposure, i would have just cropped some more of the stone away.
well seen & captured, thorsten.

Hi Klaus,
Welcome to TN.
I think your crop is a bit too high. Anyway DOF is perfect. Additional notes could do better as well.

Nice soft background and kind of dramatic lighting give this pic a romantic mood. Good job!

Very nice shot. The detail on them is very good.
Please give some info on the.
Crop a bit more on the bottom.
Well done.

Hello Klaus,
Great shot of this lovely couple, sharp and also colourfull.

Adorable photo. I was wondering about the croping and I realy dont know what can I say. I think I like it that way :-)

Welcome to Trek Nature. This is a lovely capture, Klause. They are just too adorable! I think I agree with Steve's idea on cropping. I like his workshop. Next time include a note.

Nice shot.

These are interesting animals. Well photographed.

This shot is very nice and writing on it is a bit of a sin in my opinion.

Very nice shot!
The moment of capture with these Lundefugler close together is great. They certainly seen to be enjoying each others company. I feel that the light level is OK in your picture - the soft light reflects the arctic environment the live in, but I agree on the cropping - I think it would be an even better picture if you cropped the bottom a little more.
Other than that - a great picture!

Well done!
