Sometimes Nature throughs amazing sunrises and all you can do is stand there and watch in wonder. I hadn't thought that anything would happen with this sunrise. I always pop my head into the study every morning to glance at the eastern horizon just on the off chance... and most mornings there is nothing to see whatsoever, but every now and again Nature throws an amazing sunrise missed by all but those who watch and wait everyday.

Earlier in the sunrise came this picture, but it took a little more editing that Sunrise Splendor becuase the colours were so very vivid and I have had to tone them down becuase they looked so unreal...

Converted from RAW, white balance set to 3400K on colour temperature (I would have selected cloud only the reds were so intense is was madness), increased brightness by 2/3 EV, rezised and sharpened, then posted! (the WS shows the orginal)

There may be a 3rd in this series if I can get it looking 'real'... the cloud layer was moving very fast that morning and the sunrise changed so much..

thanks for looking.

Hi Emma,

This is an amazing looking sunrise.
I just love the silhoutte of the tree against that beautiful and colourful sky.
It's breathtaking!
Thanks for sharing.

Greetings, Nel

Well that would certainly help one wake up in the morning! It looks more like evening colors than morning ones. I like your pp work. It makes it a little more subtle. Was there a storm on the way. We say, "Red sky in morning...sailors take warning"

Great shot of your tree! :)
I love the way youve composed it with the ground and clouds framing the tree in. Beautiful colours and great light! These moments are made to enjoy!

Hello Emma,
It is quite amazing to see how the sky can change during less than 10 minutes!
More drama in the clouds, better contrast in the colours here, seven minutes earlier...

Hi Emma,
What a difference in this one and the one posted in the WS. I really like the colors in the top part of the photo, where just a touch of blue peaks through the clouds. One little nit, the bottom right brance of the tree is touching the horizon, and it would be great to see a litlte bit of air underneath it. But that will probably mean you need to make your window larger. But, it is nit picking.

Nice classical landscape with tall silhouette and excellent sky. Very difficult to choose what is better of your last two posts. Previous has nice foggy layer, this one has better sky.

Hi Emma.
Your this landscape picture is wonderful. You have managed to reflect the sunrise very truthful. I saw such scenes but I can't to reproduce them so perfect in the meantime. Nice colour tones and very impressive shot. TFS and my regards.

Nicely done, Emma. Great job with the color and exposure. Nicely composed, too. I think I recognize that tree.
P.S. Nice to see you posting again.

I love it, the silohette of the tree against the bright morning sky is lovely. It looks to be a "sparkling" day!!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo!

Hi Emma,
A long time no see! I must say that I'm more used to seeing sunsets rather than sunrises on TN....probably because you have to get up early!!!The different shades of red and orange are just amazing.Good composition of the tree and I like its silhoette....lovely work.
Regards, David

This looks like an African sunset. :) The colors are amazing. I think you did well in exposing it. Well done.

Hi Emma,
THis is really nice the different colours & tones are always difficult to edit. This has has turned out great, the only suggestion that i dare make is to reduce the top black band.
