[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Raccoons are nocturnal mammals. Raccoons are unusual for their thumbs, which (though not opposable) enable them to open many closed containers such as garbage cans and doors. They are intelligent omnivores with a reputation for being clever, sly, and mischievous. Raccoons range from 50 to 100 cm in length (including the tail) and weigh between 4.5 and 16 kg. The raccoon's tail ranges from 20 to 40 cm in length. Male raccoons are generally larger than females.(Wikipedia Encyclopedia).

This raccoon was up on a tree looking down intently at me while I took the picture. Taken at Austin State Park in San Felipe, Texas.

did you have to cleanup any red eye? nice composition

Potentially a nice shot, but your flash was too strong here. White areas of the fur are over exposed and the image appears to be over sharpened. I would crop the branch on the left out.

Hi Edgar, I haven't met you before, so welcome to TN. It is good to see the racoon, I know nothing about these animals, so I find your notes interesting to read, thank you. Do they live wild in the park?
Thank you for showing,
Janice

Hi Edgar
