Excellent Hornet collage, Sabine!
The face close-up is superb, the light even allowing a good view of the structure of the compound eye.
I like hornets a lot. They are considered a good habitat indicator. I appreciate your note too.

Hallo Sabine,
imposantes Gesicht. Die beissfähigen Mandibeln sind gut sichtbar. Bedingt durch den Blitz wird die Feinstruktur der Augenoberfläche sichtbar. Das große Bild gefällt mir am besten.
Hattest du diesesmal keine Angst vor einer Attacke? Oder gilt das nur für Spinnen?
Schöne Grüße und einen perfekten Fenstereinbau vor dem eventuell 'einbrechenden' Winter.

Everything about a hornet becomes as clear as the daylight after looking at the four facets of the creature presented here, Sabine. Each component image is better than the other, though the large facial close-up takes the cake here, as the saying goes.

Absolutely perfect. Every single one of this collage is presented with good sharpness and clarity.

I know they aren't as bad as they look but still I'm always careful having one anywhere close.

I was bit three time in a day by them.
isn't so lovely!

they did a great work for nature (a nest eat 1 kg of insect a day) but when I heard their sound I go away. quickly).
