A nice, albeit slightly moody winter landscape in Manning Park. There was probably a good 5 feet of snow here at around the 1800 metre (6000 foot) level. The Brothers Mtn ridge to the east is in the background.
A grad filter was used to make the sky a bit darker and moodier.

The grad filter did indeed make this a moodier shot. Looks like you are about to be hit with more snow. I thnk it may have made the tops of the trees a little overdark...but that can be fixed in pp. I've like all your snowy pictures. They are really nice.

Beautiful winter landscape, I think if you used Photoshop curves to drag the mid tones up a little, specifically the snow on the ground, this would look a little better, as it comes over just a little too grey for me.

Did a little workshop...

bonjour TIM
cette photo est magnifique, des couleurs un peu sombre, voir worksohp
mais c' est une excellente prise de vue de cette montagne et cette neige si agréable. cette image me fait penser a un vrai tableau. et pourquoi pas a un puzzle !!!!

Hi Tim, great composition. I love the effect the grad filter has produced, one can almost feel the chill. Well done.

Hi Tim,
Now that is a dramatic and beautiful winter landscape. I used to live in Colorado at the 9000 ft. level in Winter Park. Brings backsome fond memories. Flawless composition and framing on the shot. The filter did a great job balancing out the exposure. Very nice work.

Looks 3D to me. The grad filter worked well IMO.

Bonjour Tim
Une excellente photo avec ce paysage qui inspire le calme.Les couleurs sont justes et parfaitements exposées ainsi que les détails.. Félicitations pour la belle et grande composition.

Merci et bravo...JP

Hi Tim,
Another great winter scenery from your trip into the mountains. I am amazed about the clarity of this photo. So much to see in the distance. I agree with Miles on the slight darkness of the photo.
