|Troides Helena Cerberus or common bird wing|
Took this pic with flash to give more details as the lighting was poor around.More of this beauty...
This spectacular "birdwing" has a wingspan which equals and sometimes exceeds that of the famous Rajah Brooke's Birdwing. It is essentially a jungle species but is drawn to cultivated areas where its host plant, Aristolochia tagala, can be found.
The black and yellow colouring is a warning pattern to predators that it is distasteful. The Common Birdwing attains a wingspan of 13 - 15 cm for the males and up to 18 cm for the females. This species is highly sought after by collectors and is a CITES-listed species in Malaysia, Singapore & indonesia.
The female, which is the bigger of the two, has a series of black spots on the hindwing.

Wspanialy motyl, piekne kolory.
The image is a bit too dark, GP; I'm distressed about it!
The butterfly is truly beautiful with that combination of red, white, yellow and black.
As an afterthought, I tried to do a workshop to redo the image my way. Hope you will not take it amiss.

Beautiful butterfly specie. I also feel that the image is a bit too dark; the workshop of ramthakur looks well.
