[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello Friends.

This time we've gone to Artvin again. And I want to show you a very interesting plant that it is named as Physalis alkekengi (Chinese Lantern or Bladder-cherry)from Solanaceae Family. This flower such a ball. In this ball there is a red colored fruit. At first this flower was green-color. Time by time it becomes ripe and gets first yellow and after red-orange. After red age red covered cortex decays and this time its view is really very nice. Like a tulle curtain or a lacework. At this moment you can in the tulle curtain cortex you can see its red fruit.

In my book Prof. Necmeddin ZEYBEK has wroten: "... It is a herbaceous perennial plant growing to 40-60 cm tall, with spirally arranged leaves 6-12 cm long and 4-9 cm broad. The flowers are white, with a five-lobed corolla 10-15 mm across, with an inflated basal calyx which matures into the papery orange fruit covering, 4-5 cm long and broad..."

When I found it, it has none leaf and nearly it was getting to dead. This green leaf doesn't belong to P. alkekengi. It belongs to an ivy.

Well, what about technique:
I use Minolta 50 mm AF f/1.7 macro lens and Kenko 2x Teleconverter. It was captured by Av programme. As a fault I didn't carry a tripod with me. I should use a tripod here. 1/60 shutter is too slow to take without a tripod, even Sony's "super steady system". But I didn't have a chance for coming here again.

Bu güzel bitkiyi bize tanıttığınız için teşekkürler. Kaynaklara baktım, İstanbul civarında da yetişiyor görünüyor. Elinize sağlık.

Merhaba Fevzi Bey,
Selamlar

Dear Fevzi.
It is not recommended to use any telecoverter with lenses, having focal length smaller then 100 mm. I have both (2x and 1.4x) and have tried all my lenses with them. The result is perfect only with telelenses and macro lens 100 mm.

Combination FL = 50 mm x 2.0 and shutter speed 1/60 in not critical for steady shot system. I wish you very sharp pictures with this nice lens. Composition, colours and exposure are very good, your note is excellent. TFS and my best regards,
Alexei.

Biz buna "lamba çiçegi" derdik. İçinden bilya gibi kırmızı bir tohum çıkardı. Fakat tadı acıydı. Hey gidi günler. Yine geçmişe döndürdün beni. Nefis bir resim. Selamlar

Merhaba Abi
