[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For quite a long time Iíve been trying to shoot a vulture. I confess Iím a little bit fascinated about these creatures. Not only because of their habits, but also because of some childhood memories.

When I was a child, and my town was smaller, many vultures could be often seen up there in the sky. I used to like that. Besides, I think my fascination is also due to comic books, for during infancy I used to read Spider-Manís comic books a lot, and Abutre (in English, Vulture, but I donít know if this is how he is known in English) was one of his enemies. In fact, he was the one I used to enjoy the most. Iíd like to see this bad guy in the movies, but it seems that wonít happen.

To take this picture, I went to a place some two kilometers away from the town, where vultures can be easily found. Itís there the trucks leave the trash they take in the urban area. Of course, the smell was not pleasant, but, despite that, I think it was worthwhile going there.

I like the shot Livio, the shot and the note,
Very nice capture, it's just a vulture, but even if you see the beauty of them you look too that bird wit other eyes, very good job

Hi Livios
This is a very nice Black Vulture?, I think. His head is not wrinkled enough to be a turkey vulture. The redrish BG is strange, but nice anf clean, which is good. TFS, I was also brought up on a lot of annimation, and even today, I still like it!

Livios, e unha foto muy curiosa dun paxaro impresionante. Gosto moito do BG e da cor que invaden tudo. Creo que ista vez un pouco mais de luz e unha mascare de enfoque serian axeitadas. Fixen un pequeno WS, desexo que gostes del. Un saudo.

Great shot Livios,
Good detail and Clarity. This is the first of these I have seen.
Thanks for posting

I can't say it's a beautiful bird, Livio, but it's served by a very good photo. Red all around shows it as a kind of lonely animal on another planet :-). There are some red reflections on the wings, showing the place is dusty. Very good background.

Nice work Livio, I remember spider man but I don't remember him having a vulture as an enemy. Very nice composition and colours, well done.

Livio. I like the black vulture against the red OOF BG. (maybe a good thing if this is the trash dump!) Good details, exposure & composed well also. Well done!

Very good picture, the backgroung is very good.

Excelent shot of the Black Vulture. My first view of many was in Guatamala. Great details and composition.

Mike

Superb Livio. Great pose on the vulture and stunning soft colours making this composition really good.
Well done

Simplicity, great background, well composed and sharp subject = great picture. Your note is very interesting too. Overall excellent job Livio.

Excellent! I have nothing to complain about. :) I love the red bg. Well done!

Nice shot and pose, but focus seems to be soft...
Maybe too much PP?
TFS.

Great shot!
As always: great composition, great colours and great blurred BG ;-)
I always thought that Vultures are ugly or even filthy birds, but this one looks very interesting and maybe even beautiful.
I like this photo very much.
Well done!

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder..." While I don't share this appreciation for the species, I do enjoy the way you have captured this one. Wonderful contrast between the subject and the background colors. Thankyou.
