Venom against venom

[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This is a monocellate cobra eating a common krait. Both the snakes have lethal neurotoxic venom and account for many human deaths especially in southern west bengal.
This was shot in Lothian Island in the Indian Sundarban. This island is about 11 km long and 3-4 km wide. No human habitation except the few forest staff. A bricklaid path that used to connect the northern part of the island with the southern part is now mostly broken. From the rest house at South Lothian we could walk on that path for only about 3 kms. Under the loose bricks is the serpent haven. |

Hello Bikramadittya,
Though the technical merits of this shot are mediocre you have captured a moment not often seen, let alone photographed and for that you deserve the credit of making a valuable contribution to TN.
TFS, regards, Ivan
