[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
'Capturing The Light' is an excellent book by English photographer Peter Watson. I just both it last week and I recommend it to all beginners and novices. It's a superb guide on the know how to landscape photography. This picture taken in New-Hampshire reminds me of what we learn and see in this book.

This is Mount Washington at sunrise as seen from a ledge near Pinkham Notch. At 6:20, about 1 hour before sunrise, equiped with a headlamp, I hiked up to a ledge that offer this superb view. Once installed I patiently waited for the sun to start rising from the horizon and shine the exposed part of the mountain. Just a couple of minutes after sunrise at 7:15, the sun took this nice pink color on the mountain that lasted no more than 2-3 minutes before it started turning to a more orange-yellow tone. 'Capturing the light' in deed!

I decided to post a panoramic format because the bottom part of the picture was distracting and not interesting (see original picture in workshop) and also to give scale. The result gives a nice contrast between the dark FG and the beautiful lighted mountain.

PP (ACDSee Pro):
- Adjusted a little the levels
- Cropped to panoramic view.
- Removed dust.
- Cloned out some snow patch in the dark FG.

Hello Partick,
I like your panorama very much. The composition of three differently coloured layers is excellent. And colours are nice too :-)
Best greetings,
Michal

Hi Patrick,
What a wonderful photo. The pink color is just awesome. You did good making up the composition and being patient before taking the photo. The result is certainly rewarding. I've looked the WS as well, and I find that version beautiful as well, but I can understand your crop and find it a very good result.
TFS,
Niek

P.S. Do you have the ISBN number of that book?

Hi Patrick.
great colours. Good time of day. Well cropped. Nicely photographed.
Regards, Steve.

Magnífica panorámica, Bellos colores y gran trabajo amigo Patrick, muchos saludos

Allo Patrick,
