This is another picture of my walk on december 26th 2006 in Germany. Everything was white because of the frost. At this time it was late in the afternoon. It was getting darker and there was a lot of mist, as this picture clearly showes.
But I still liked the look of this "winterwonderland".

Here's some info on Rheinland-Pfalz from Wikipedia:

Rhineland-Palatinate (German: Rheinland-Pfalz) is one of 16 Bundesländer (federal states) of Germany. It has an area of 19,846 km² and about four million inhabitants. The capital is Mainz.

Rhineland-Palatinate borders on (from the north and clockwise) North Rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Baden-Württemberg, France, Saarland, Luxembourg and Belgium.

The main axis of the state is the Rhine river, that forms the border with Baden-Württemberg and Hesse in the southeast before running across the northern part of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Rhine Valley is bounded by mountain chains and forms a fascinating landscape containing some of the most historically significant places in Germany.

The Eifel and Hunsrück mountain chains are found on the west bank of the Rhine in northern Rhineland-Palatinate, while the Westerwald and Taunus mountains are found on the east bank. The hilly lands in the southernmost region of the state are called the Palatine Forest (Pfälzerwald).

These mountain chains are separated from each other by the following tributaries of the Rhine: the Moselle (Mosel), the Lahn and the Nahe.

Hello Nel,
I'm amazed!
Who needs snow when frost looks this good..?
Well... for photography purposes that is, probably not good for skiing this stuff...
I like the composition with the winding road, the fog and the lovely textures... Great!

Hello Nel,
Beautiful scane.Well seen and composed.POV,framing and visual impact are also excellent.

I like the mist. the way the picture fades out. It adds a feeling that it would be lacking if it was all bright and focused. Gives me an idea for a photo. A new favorite. thanks

I do like your winter wonderland Nel. I would like to see just the slightest bit of contrast and sharpening at the beginning of the road...to grab the viewer's eye and lead him into the scene. This is very well exposed and composed.

Hello Nelly,
a wondeful frosty scenery you captured. Very nice POV, the fog in the BG add the mood. Very well composed, love the dark curves of the path in contrast to the whites.
Very well done.

Hi Nel

Lovely to see the frost on the ground and trees. This sure looks bleak and cold. Nice work. TFS.

Ricardo

A landscape almost colored in black and white Nel with disturbing atmosphere and at the same time of tranquility.
I like the fusion of the frozen trees amid the fog with pleasant point of view in combination with the elected framing.
An interesting image... thank you for sharing.
A cordial greeting from Buenos Aires... Ricardo

Hoi Nel,

Amicalement Thomas

Hi Nel

A very appropriate title for your posting. I have never seen such a heavy occurrence of frost not even when I lived up country, but the last 20 years I’m living at the coast in sunny Zululand where it never frost nor snow and the coldest temperature during winter might be in the region of +13°C.

A lovely composition with good details and exposure. I like the idea that you included the little pathway that leads to an unknown but obviously cold destination, but who knows, maybe there is a steaming cup of coffee waiting there.

Well done and TFS.

hello NELLY
bon travail, merci, bon dimanche
