Thios is a wolf carrying a chital-Spotted deer- Fawn. It was late in the evening, we were returning back from the field trip in the sanctuary in Bandavgarh, the land of the tiger. our guide spotted a wolf coming and we waited for almost ten minutes. We later saw another one carrying something big. Through Binacs, it was confirmed that it is a fawn. The male grabbed the kill from female and started eating it . it was 400mters away. later it carried the feed towards us and came on to the road. This shot was taken before it came on to the road, when it was running. The lighting was bad And i was to compromise with whtever the clarity i could get. I liked it because of the natural history point.

Wow ! What a fabulous shot and story behind it. You did a superb job getting a nice exposure with the difficult cirumstances you had. I love the clarity of the wolf's eye and the sense of motion as he runs with his prized food.
One of the most interesting posts I've seen in a long time! TFS!

Great capture Satish,
Real nature shot in action. The important parts are well focused and detailed, and the sense of movement as you tracked this one is well conveyed.
Nice work.

Hi Satish,
Fantastic shot - you were lucky to be in the right place, right time and the execution is excellent. Fantastic result from the panning!

Hi Satish,
Good wildlife shot and this is really wild life!
Nice action...you can feel he is in a hurry...

A sad sight - but that is nature. Great shot. You were lucky to spot it but the fact you managed to capture it so well must all be down to skill. Great details for a grab shot and nice composition. Well done

Hi Satish, this is an excellent capture on your part. This just isn't something you see everyday. By the sounds of your note it was not the easiest shot either. Well done!

Thanks, John

Hello chikappa,
The picture is a superb action shot, that haziness around the wolf indicates movement (running ), great picture. I'm not sure what do you mean by "you had compromise with whtever the clarity you could get" i dont see any nits at all, truly a masterpiece, i'm waiting to see your other masterpieces from that trip

A natural looking shot that looks like a picture out of the jungle. The slight panning effect and slightly blurred tail has added the sense of motion. Looking forward to see the other plunders you have brought back.

THe action here is very great, the eyes tell it all.

Hi Satish,

Suberb and a relatively rare shot - u have got the wolf eyes and all of the fawn in sharp focus as the rest is blurred in the panning,ur combined application of experience and skill is evident.

thanks for posting.

Dear Satish, excellent shot for the challenging situation you have described and is so natural. The panning is fantastic and the sense of motion is so well depicted.
with best regards.vab.
