Shot in the Galapagos. This land iguana posed for me in front of a patch of red succulents. I shot this photo nearly wide open to blur and detexturize the background.

Cheers.

Hi Wes,
Welcome with a good first post.
Nice BG colors and beautiful animal displayed.
Compo is abit personal; dsisplays very well the blurred red though.

Hello Wes,
A great shot here!
You did a great job with the background, so rich in color and soft in focus.
I like a lot the composition used, with the iguana coming into the frame from the left margin.
We can observe clear details and texture on the iguana's skin.
An excellent first post to inaugurate your gallery here in TN. Welcome!
Congratulations, thanks for share and greetings,
JM

Great shot man. I like the extreme contrast between the subject and the background.

Hi Wes

Welcome to TN.

This is an amazing shot. Not only do you show impressive detail on the Iguana, but you have made eye contact and the background is fantastic. Nice work.

Ricardo

Welcome to TN Wes... an excellent capture for your first post with good sharpness, focus and colors, due to appropriate DOF and lighting that offers excellent details of the reptile enhanced by the correct diffuse bottom of the scene.
Be careful with the loss of quality in the processed of the image, since this has only 73Kb. when TN allows a maximum of 200Kb.
A cordial greeting from Buenos Aires... Ricardo

Hi Wes,

I like your picture! I've been to galapagos, too and it's really photographers heaven. I will also put other images of iguanas to TN.
I love your picture - only point of criticism, the open red part on the right is in my opinion to "dominant". I'd have cut a part off.

Anyway, great picture TFS,
Oki
