... aka Ode to WATER, Air, Earth and Fire...

There are only certain times when certain events come together to present us with a vista. Similar to the symbiosis required for lichen we need confluence of conditions for what we have here:
a) high humidity, i.e. we have water which is frozen on a glass pane, like lichen on a rock;
b) arctic air that caused this frosty fermentation;
c) earth that supports my bushfeld and Bold Rock in the darker b/g;
d) solar fire of the rising sun which lights up the ice crystals ...

Photo was shot this AM, about half an hour after sunrise, when the sunrays had not yet melted
the lichen like ice crystals from my window, and the light was at the right angle to make the crystals sparkle.

The "fractals" shown here are more along the lines that I am familiar with -= ie. ferns or firtrees at all angles =-
than my prevous post with differently formed "ice lichen"/"ice dancers" which were on a different pane of glass...

This is absolutely awesome, Jay and the fact that two folks have already chosen it as a personal favourite should tell you that too! I love the feathery curves (Lord only knows what gentle drafts of air have contributed to them).
Wonderful details

Hello Jay,
Magnificent and unusual capture again.Well seen and composed.Exposure is spot on,details are crisp clear.POV,lighting and framing are also excellent.
Have a great day!
TFS..:-)

Hello Jay,
chillingly, flesh creepingly beautiful, those fractals of ice in front of a distant winter landscape! This is a masterpiece of subtle colours, atmospheric depth, and a relaxed composition in perfect harmony.
I might prefer to enjoy this beautiful image without any text written in the border below as that takes away some of the concentration and meditative silence.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter

Hi Jay,
This is "cool", I like it :)
The crystals are well detailed and exposed nicely. I think the OOF BG enhances the capture here as well.
Nice work!

Hi Jay,
It's another one beautiful artwork, I think more better then "Icedancers at Dawn".

Good work
Alex

Wow ! Super photo... one of the things I miss here in the Thames Valley... never gets really cold here... rare event for it to drop below freezing... No Jack Frost.. sigh.

Great lighting, glistening off of and highlighting the patterns. TFS.. and thanks for the very informative notes.
