it shows dosen't it and the woodpecker felt it too.

The hand belongs to my husband, actually he was feeding chickadees. He was quite surprised when this woodpecker landed on his hand.

This is a beautiful capture and you had great timing taking this one :) Details, composition are very nice. Your husband’s hand looks almost like a statue. You caught good details on the Woodpecker too. Well done! Thanks,

hi Sky,

Tolle Aufnahme

I have heard of folks getting Chicadees to land in their hand, first I have seen a Downy doing it. Well taken, hope I get this lucky....

none of my woodpeckers are ever this friendly... one is really annoying me at the moment - they are tapping out their territory on wooden posts, only 'mine' has realised that the aerial attatched to the top of a large chimney stack vibrates far better... so weekend lie-ins are not really lie-ins at all!

Anyhow - great shot, it helps sometimes to see the size of these birds and this one really shows how small this woodpecker is (compared to what I am used to in the UK that is).

Nicely done and TFS

Dear Sky, many thanks for the feedback and the kind words its very much appreciated, if it hadn’t been for the other birds causing a bit of a ruckus I don’t think I would have seen it, luck was defiantly on my side, this is a wonderful shot and so well captured, nothing better then having a wild bird come down and take food from your hand, the ultimate trust, congratulations on a wonderful gallery, all the best Cheers Rick :)
