[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This shot of the Barn Owl was taken at the Hawk Conservancy in Weyhill near Andover Hampshire. Your critiques are very much appreciated

Barn owl
Tyto alba
With heart shaped face, buff back and wings and pure white under parts the barn owl is a distinctive and much loved countryside bird. Widely distributed across the UK, and indeed the world, the bird has suffered declines over the past fifty years as a result of the degradation of once prey-rich habitats in the face of intensive agricultural practices. This decline, fortunately, has halted in many areas and the population may now be increasing.
It can be seen all year round; during the day, but best at dusk in open country, along field edges, riverbanks and roadside verges
The Barn Owl feeds on Mice, voles and shrews and produces Screeching, wheezing and gurgling sounds.

Lovely inflight shot of this owl Adrian,
great panning and framing :)
Cheers :D

Wow Adrian
This is awesome....If only he would have looked over toward you ...it would have been spectacular. The lighting is a bit bright but nice and sharp and composed. Good notes too.

Warm welcome to TN Adrian.

Effective use of panning. You managed to keep the focus on the face.

The cropping is a little too tight. This is a difficult shot as the whites in the feathers tend to get over exposed.

TFS!

Hello Adrian! Marvellous composition, this is a most unusual view and you have got it just right! Too bad that it is a little light, I struggle with the same problem. Lucky you, this is a wonderful action shot, one can feel the speed of his ascent! Well done! Linda

HI Adrian,
a nice in-flight shot even if it's a bit soft and bright.
The POV and compo is nice and the colours as well.
Well done.

Welcome, Adrian...
Good in flight of the Barn Owl.
I agree with Gert's critique.

My first impression was that the bird was beheaded :)
Great framing, sharpness and colours. The lighting could be less harsh but in spite of that the pic is awsome!!!
