Seagulls are great birds for practice in flight shots.
Same time you get interesting pictures too.
I like the dynamic of this one as well the depth given
by the blurred bird in the background.
Taken on New Year Day on the shore of Lake Ontario.

G'day Mario
I agree the seagulls are perfect fo practicing. And I also agree with the depth given by the blurred bird in the background. Nice use of thirds.

Hi Mario, this is a good shot of the 3 gulls. I agree, with you, I like the way you've used your depth of field too in blurring the rear bird. It's a nice perspective. You've done a nice tight crop on these guys too to present a good tight corner to corner composition. The detail is great.

PS We almost have the same equipment; you have the 30-D… I bought my 20-D in December 2005 and a few weeks later the 30-D was released… grrr

Howdy Mario,

The face on the foremost gull reminds me of both a seal or a mink, less the beak of course. This is a very nice compo: the three birds all parallel to the NE - SW diagonal. Tfs, Jay
