(18714) [2013-09-07 14:02:34] | I am so grateful and very proud that this precious little baby is my namesake, and I will love her just as much and as dearly as I do with Nina, our first grandchild born in 2010. This photo was taken when she was only 4 days old. |

(18714) [2010-11-06 05:40:58] | Every morning we saw the dustbins in the camp was thrown over and we always assumed it was the Vervet monkeys, which really can be a bit of a problem in the park. But, after the badger treated us with its dust-bath, it strolled off towards the dustbin right in front of our bungalow, not bothered in the slightest bit by all the people surrounding it. It pushed open the lid and tuned the bin over. Then it got right inside the bin, found something to eat and disappeared in the grasses behind the bungalows. Wow, what a fabulous moment to remember. |

(18714) [2010-10-25 09:57:04] | The moment she met her granddad, she straight away grabbed hold of his finger and held on for dear life. That made Loot feel so special and proud, but maybe it is a sign that she's going to turn him around her little fingers. |

(18714) [2010-04-18 08:16:26] | This is the female Marico Sunbird attacking the rear window. Being late afternoon with the sun behind us, the rear window of the car must have had increased reflection thus making it almost seem mirror like. It was such an interesting and most entertaining encounter we had with these lovely birds. These images also remind one of the fact that with most birds, the male appears far more beautiful than the female. Just look at the dullish and unattractive colours in her plumage in comparison to his shiny metallic colours. |

(18714) [2009-11-29 07:19:53] | As I mentioned in my notes, this photo is not good enough for a posting, but I just wanted to show the Black rhino so you can compare the two animals.
We couldn't find any White rhino on this day and time was running out fast to register a rhino for the day. Just before 5 o'clock in the afternoon this Black rhino suddenly appeared in the riverbed of the Sabie River. From where we were sitting in our cars it must have been ±75m to the animal so there was no way that my little Sony was going to reach that far and get a shot any better than this. |

(18714) [2009-11-12 12:05:51] | This is just to show how this little Crested barbet tilted over whilst basking in the sun. It was so comical to watch and I just did not want the show to end. One could see in its eyes and the expression on its face that it was engrossed by and really took pleasure in the heating rays of the sun. |

 Werner & Naomi | Miss_Piggy
(18714) [2009-05-16 21:31:25] | Werner and Naomi on their wedding day, 9 May 2009. The function was held at the Umfolozi Bird Park, near Umfolozi village, in northern Zululand. On the day the heavens opened up and we were worried that we wouldn't be able to take any photos out in the garden, but about ½ an hour before we had to start it suddenly stopped raining and we had a lovely opportunity to shoot away at leisure. This photo was actually taken by Loot. |
