Time for an update since I have been on this site for over a year.
This has been an amazing journey of learning, discovery and friendships.
I have travelled with opened eyes through my environment, I have learned so much about presenting photographs and the technical aspects of taking them (still the most difficult for me), I have discovered interesting things about other regions of the world and I have made so many new friends that my life has been enriched.
I have retired from work altogether since July so my horizons are becoming even wider! This new found hobby of photography (I only got an SLR in August 2007) will, I feel, take an even bigger part in my life.
I urge new members to persevere with their photography. We are not all experts in everything but together, our knowledge is vast.
Since retiring from full-time teaching I have begun to enjoy walking in the rugged Pennines of Northern England where I live. To help me recall my outings I am kindling an interest in photography. Because my camera is a simple one I am not looking for photographic excellence but more for artistic composition.
I need to edit this profile as my husband has bought me a new camera. It is a Nikon D70. I really will have to spend time learning about all the features as I am unaccustomed to so many options. Wish me luck I'm sure I will need it!
