|Intro:||... In all things of nature, there is something of the marvelous... (Aristotle) |
I have always been interested in nature. An elementary school teacher for 30 years, I have enjoyed learning and sharing about nature with my young students.
Three years ago I got my first (digital) camera. It turned my previous indifference to photography to an unremitting passion. I have been having so much fun since. Through the lens of my camera, I discovered birds. I now consider myself an avid (if still a novice) birder.
I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, which is on the Pacific Flyway. We have an incredible abundance and variety of birds in our marshlands and estuaries by the Bay, as well as in the Central Valley and the Sierra Mountains, not far away.
I am very excited to have found TrekNature. It is such an interesting and supportive place to learn about nature and photography. I also really appreciate the truly global aspect of this community. I am very thankful to all my new friends there who are inspiring me and helping me to work towards the next level as a photographer.
This is my grandson JinYao. He melts my heart. : )
Here he is, at age 1.
