|Intro:||I'm Bente, near neighbour of Mogens Jørgensen [mogens-j] with whom I share an interest in bugs and birds, so we often go shooting together - everybody else around here probably think we're nuts ;-))|
I've had several cameras in my life, most notably my beloved Nikon EM, which I made the daft decision to trade for a Nikon 401x sometime around 1992. As this camera has a peculiar habit of refusing to take photos if it "thinks" there's too little light (which it does *very* frequently), my interest in photography declined rapidly, as one photo opportunity after the other marched past, while I struggled to press a shutter that would not be pressed (for photos the EM would have made without batting an eyelid). So, I gave up and bought a Canon point-and-shoot, which travelled a lot easier, anyway.
In the summer of 2003 I got my first digital camera, an Olympus C5050z, and with that in paw I rediscovered the fun of photography with the addition of a new interest in macro photography. Once the bug season was over, I had to find new areas of interest and turned to birds. But then the Oly soon proved to have a too limited range, there's no shooting proper pictures of birds with a 3x zoom. I then promptly went and bought a Canon EOS 300D and a Tamron 28-300mm lens to go with it, and I haven't looked back since ;-))
Digital photography is such a fun way of taking photos, and I find it great to be able to take any number of shots to test the various options and then just dump the failures afterwards.
