Hi folks
I hope that many of you would like to post a larger version of your images, and I mean larger than the permitted 800 pixels, but most of you do not know how to use this option. Unfortunately I couldn't find any explanation in Treknature pages so I learned this from Treklens in some of the forums.
The first think you have to do is to create a blank file with the longer site to be around tree times the length of the short one. I am using the following sizes: 1645px X 656px ( this size can fill and average size 22 inch ..24 inch LCD screens well )
Create another blank file with the same proportions but this time not bigger than 800 pixels in length.
Copy and paste your original file over the small version and adjust it to fit into the frame .... or simply cropp the image with the following dimensions: 800px X 320px and 72dpi. After posting the small version the site will allows you to post the new Large Version.
Now you can copy and paste the original file over the newly created Large file ( see above ). Take note that the Large version can not be more than 400kb in size.
Good luck friends!

Regards,
George Veltchev

Thanks a lot George for these explanations. I'm not sure I will be able to do it, but I will try or may be my son will help me out.
Very helpful indeed you are!

Would be a nice option to post large versions of any format, so it would be up to every single member to use this option or not, knowing that large versions could be misused. But it's always nice to have the option

It is of course not an option to post large versions, but to post a larger version of a panorama.

Hi George and everyone else,
I found and use a more simple solution. From the original panoramic file I make my "normal" TN-sized image with 800 pixels width, and besides this, a large version with 3000 pixels width (although 4000 is allowed, I rarely use this option, because the pic is too big in this case, in my opinion) and slightly different name (like in the case of "lake.jpg" it's named "lake_lv.jpg"). After I uploaded the normal version, the system automatically gives the option "post large version". And I simply do. If you want to delete the LV, but not the whole image, you even have "delete large post" option. Just an example. However, large versions are only visible to registered TN-users who are currently signed in.
