Thanks for the visit, comments and well wishes. Yes, I saw you and Ivan had the good fortune of seeing and capturing the Black Francolin on Cyprus. It is also a lovely bird. Actually we have 12 Francolins in South Africa plus the Chukar Partridge. However, as you rightly observed, only 5 (possibly 6) frequent the Kruger Park, but the Kruger's maps and booklets normally only show 3 and so I wasn't aware of the others. As I just said to Steve Pryor (cuckooroller), now that I know about the other species, "I am going to take a good look at all my photos of Francolins. I have to see what I might have captured unknowingly". Just maybe I was lucky without even realising it.
