Agreed - the highlights are "clipped" and the background is a bit intrusive - but it was the only one available ;). The OE of the highlights seems to be a limitation of the camera - it does it consistently in high contrast lighting conditions. Even in alternate frames where I underexposed up to -1.5EV the highlights were blown, but the shadow detail was also lost. Bear in mind that this is just a compact camera - even if an unusually capable one. Never mind - the Nikon SLR I've been waiting for - the D200 - seems to be coming along soon!
