|I only got into fishing since I've been in the UK... but it IS expensive. In the States you just need a license and off you to your nearest lake, river or stream, and, as long as it's not posted No Trespassing or No Fishing, you set yourself down and enjoy. Here you have to have a license from the environment agency and then join an angling club or syndicate to fish their waters... there are very few "public" waters around. But... while we love course fishig in general, we really love the big carp... something you don't have in the States. I would miss that.
