Sorry to bother you with a personal problem. My wife Swatanter Thakur left for Cape Town last night (Sept 30, 2017) along with a colleague and 2 students to attend the Round Square International Conference beginning today and ending on October 5. While reporting at the immigration at Delhi airport, the pages of her passport came apart, apparently due to faulty binding. The Indian immigration people let her go through but warned that she could be denied entry at Cape Town Airport.
I'm worried like hell and so is she. Could you kindly find out from knowledgeable people in your friends' circle if she could be allowed entry into SA with such a condition of her passport? The pages otherwise are very neat and completely legible.
Just the facts would be enough for me so that I am prepared to help her out if she is denied entry and has to come back. Kindly convey my distress to Loot too and once again very sorry to bother you!
