If I was you, I would have a serious business meeting with that IT guy that sold the monitor to you. You could start by explaining that being a "cheap skate" in the beginning has made you much wiser - and more eye strained - and that you are about to give him a signed blank cheque for a new one! If that approach fails, then beg him to lend you the macro lens and if that ego trip does not work - you are buggered!!

Oh yes - I rotated the image first 90, then tried 180 and then 360. I immediately noticed the incredible difference - it must have been the 2 stop process that gathered more light. Thanks for the tip - but maybe you should copyright it to get some bucks for the new lens!
