questions regarding pano's and hdr's | inked

hi guys,
i'm new here.. 3 days new actually and eagerly awaiting my daily photo limit to refresh for a new day =) . I'm really liking the site so far, the pictures and the people are great. Glad i found the place.
got a few questions regarding panorama's and hdr images.
I've noticed there's a dedicated panorama's section. How do i upload to here? does the 800px limit still apply as i've noticed you can view large versions of the panoramas?
Also, HDR images, are these allowed? Do they breach the TOS with the "Images may not be digitally manipulated in an image editing program"?
Digitally manipulating is the only way to create them, and it's more 'compiling' since its multiple exposures of the same shot blended.
I have a HDR panorama made from 6, or maybe it was 7 pictures, 3 exposures each, that i would love to show, but would love to know people's opinions of this first before i step on anyones toes.
thanks and hope to hear from you soon. |

Hi Gethin, HDR's are allowed on the Trek sites. Actually there's quite a debate going on about them over on TE here. I posted one myself for Sleeping Pelicans on TN. When you think about it, there's no more manipulation (moving of pixels) then you would have for a Pano. It's just another tool in the box.
I'm looking forward to this compilation of yours. It sounds like a combination Pano and HDR. I always wanted to try that.

Hi Gethin,
I have posted a HDR panorama and no one objected, I feel as long as you mention how the image is created there should not be a problem

There is nothing wrong with HDRS on there, I see people post them up all the time, I have posted a couple and I agree its just the same as doing a Panoramic, these days all images get some sort of minor digital editing...you cant discriminate against different types of photos :p |
