To horia: similarities - differences :)cicindela::2008-02-02 10:13
Dear Horia!
Hello again my Friend! It was long time when we exchanged some emails last time :)
Many thanks for visit and comment.
It is really nice to hear that you like this picture (even if the light is not very good, especially the shadow in the corner is not "necessary"...). Anyway, as this species is very rarely presented in the internet, and - I believe - there was no picture of it on TN, I decided to show it :)
Thank you also for nice words to my paper. Really all theses species photographed and presented in manuscript can be characterized by rather huge differences, even if for the first view they can look very similar. There are small and maybe that is the reason why it is not easy to see these characters "just lite that". But really - believe me, the differences between these beetles are similar is size/colouration like eg. between Bufo species! :)

Much bigger problem is that they are really fast runners and moreover they can fly away. So usually you can be sure ID when you catch them :)

By the way, I am sure that in February I'll send 1 (maybe 2) manuscript to your zoological magazine :) Most probably one of them will be about tiger beetles from... Argentina :)

Best greetings and all the best my Friend!
Radek
Albania
