Thanks for your supportive and useful note! As far as the cropping, I was using an automatic wide crop on my point and shoot camera at the time...much to my regret! This was motivated by a misguided effort to save memory card space in the long periods between picture downloads. Ah well, lesson learned. I have been doing a bit more cropping in post processing recently, mostly to give some balance to my images (prior to shrinking them down to the 300kb limit). Is this generally frowned upon?
I appreciate your comments. As I am just beginning to develop my photography skills, having a bit of advice from a more experienced photographer such as yourself is both affirming and motivating.
