Hi Gert,
thank you for your visit and kind words, nice to hear from you!
During that shooting - I was continuously following the woodpecker turning round and round the trunk - I was quite happy to see just the head emerging out of the trunk's shadow. But of course I agree with you about the sunlight just on the half of the head being a problem for a proper documentary shot. That's why I also added another shot from the sunny side of the trunk with the workshop, but unfortunately from a less favourable lower POV.
