I'm afraid I don't know much about cameras, or photography come to that, either Ingrid. I was using a normal and most basic (and cheap) DSLR Nikon D40, and used a polarising filter to avoid surface reflection glare. We were standing on a low bridge between the 2 islands, and this jellyfish was quite near the surface, the sunlight was excellent, so it was possible to get a photo of it. The jellyfish is approximately 20cm in diameter, with trailing tentacles, although they can get bigger than this. We have seen them with a diameters between 5-35cm. The 'light' under the sea is an out of focus rock on the bottom of the sea, probably no more than 1 metre below, as it was low tide. I would love an underwater camera, but I don't think I would get enough use out of it. It is definitely possible to get photos of things just under the surface of water using a polarising filter, so I hope you try again!

I must thank you for asking questions like this. It gives me a chance to interact with other TN photographers, and I can see Nature, in all Her glory throughout the world.

Warm greetings, Amelia
