Callie, thanks for the comments, but I'm not sure about the eye, it looks OK to me, even on the original. It is a big yellow and black eye, thus its latin name of (Pelecanus conspicillatus). The camera I'm using at present is not the greatest for wildlife photography, but when I bought it I was just looking for an introduction to digital cameras. The FinePix S5000 is a good general compact camera, but shooting birds and insects is stretching its capabilities I think. There is also a lot of noise introduced in the jpeg compression algorithm, especially with low light. Nevertheless it produces some good images when everything is perfect, and I'm still learning how to properly use all its features. I will incorporate your suggestion of bracketing into my next attempts on birds, getting that white ballance right is tricky. Anyway thanks for the critique, I appreciate all comment, that's how we learn. Cheers, Chris Australia
