Living in the wilderness helped me a lot. I was a sports and editorial photographer. I knew nothing of landscape photos until a few years ago and was not into competition of any kind, simply my love of what I had done...and that sort of grew on me. It took time I didn't even know I was taking:-).. yet you are a photographer. And you have good eyes for composition. No fear. When you see beauty in nature, and nobody else does? Take the picture and put it away...it will grow on you like moss on a wet rock.
