[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Good Morning my TN friends. Today I wanted to share yet another capture of the Sandhill parents that are living on our ranch right now.

I have had a hard time getting a sharp photo of them ,and this time I feel that I have accomplished it. I had to crawl on my belly through the sand to get close, bitten by fire ants. It was a little ridiculous looking, but well worth it!

I would appreciate your thoughts on this one, in particular. I regret having chopped of the rest of their legs, bad habit and ants in my pants! :| I will do better next time.

I sure hope you like it!

Have a Wonderful Saturday!

Ange

Hello Angela,
Lovely eyes and vivid colors attract me to this image. POV and composition are great. I can see that you had a great adventure in taking this picture:) Especially those fire ant bites are very nasty. TFS

good focus, the one head could use a bit of sharpening, nice colors good poses and expressions.

Hello Angela,
Ants in you pants? That must have been a little disagreeable, lol... This is a very nice capture of some birds that I didn't know about. Details and colors are very good. Even id there are some OE spots, this is excellent with nice catch light in their eyes. Well seen and TFS,
Claudine

Hi Angela,
A bit unorthodox, unusual and impressive image.

Hi Ange,
Crawling thru the sand and Fire Ants to get a photo! Now that sounds like something I would do. I'll try just about anything to get a more unique POV. I really like the low POV. Yes cutting the legs off was probably not the best, but getting bitten by ants can cause some distraction. The exposue is very good. Nice color saturation and very sharp detail. Enough detail in the backround to see the surrounding environment.

I looked up Alva on the map. You are in an area I consider bird photography heaven. I thought that named sounded like a town I had driven thru. I think I might be going to Ft. Desoto State Park up in St. Pete Beach this September to shoot a co-workers wedding on the beach. I am sure I will get in some nature photography.

Nice unique shot here. I like it!

Hi Ange,
This is a marvelous piece of work Ange, with superb colors, sharp details and just a lovely composition. Sorry about the fire ant incident, but you did a great job to get close and make such a fine capture. Your pain is our gain, thanks Ange.

Hello Angela, I like this shot and I like the fact that you shot them from the ground. I have to say the perspective make me think they were as large as Ostriches! Hoever I have been put right by a friend. I think they are a magnificent catch with good sharpness on the feathers. You have also caught great light and colour on the birds. Great composition. I can't speak for the ants of course!

Hi Angela,
Good shot but somehow I think with the sky light the bird is not standing out but sometimes you cant help it. But as you said you have managed it very well. Tks for sharing.

Hey Ange,

Great comittment. This sis a good shot of two full grown sandhills and very hard to get in this area without a massive lens. welld done.

I think you're right Angela, you got a fairly sharp photo this time. You also managed to capture some really rich colours. I especially like the fact that you got a good background. One piece of advice I'll suggest to try but it's not gospel, is to make their eyes your focal target when you focus. That works often but not all the time, so you'll have to be the judge there. I've found that practice to work often though. TFS
