[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
At long last my desk is cleared once again, the sun was shining and Milloup and I set off with the new toy, the 500mm Tamron. We saw loads of birds on our way, and I even saw one single "flutter by", but it didn't stop to have its picture taken. This little fellow was captured on the way back at the spot where Mogens and I have set up a feeding station for tits and friends. Birdie only made a very brief appearance, and I only got two shots in. Fortunately, both were sharp, but in the other the head is turned away. I would have liked him/her to have a catchlight in the eye, but no such luck..
The Long-tailed Tits , Aegithalos caudatus, are a small group of tiny passerines found mostly in Palearctic Eurasia but with a single species in western North America and another isolated in the mountains of Java. They move actively through trees and bushes in little family groups, and if you have any tinge of anthropomorphism in you, you'll think they are "cute." On a brief visit to mid elevations in the Indian Himalayas we thought the little flocks of Black-throated Tit (left in a stunning shot by Ron Saldino) to be just adorable. This family is closely related to the tits, titmice, and chickadees [Paridae] and although they often occur together in the same general habitat, the closely knit family units of the Aegithalidae tend to forage most often in single species groups. Five of the 8 species are primarily birds of the Himalayas or the mountains of China but some are pine-forest birds (like Black-throated Tit) while others specialize on juniper, birch, or oaks. source.

Very special tit. New for me.
Thanks for the song, Bente. It is a good idea.
Personal assessment of the photo: great.
Good visual impact.
Aptness of the photo for the site: excellent
Personal assessment of the note: more than complete with a bonus song.
Thanks, Bente.
Sorry, I am too tired to write a good comment, I am in automatic mode. I am a lasy *male* ;-)

Very nice shot, but a bit noisy and I would prefer to see a bit more of its face.
Well done.
TFS.

A fine capture of a beautiful little bird, good feather detail, a shame the face is not a little more in view.

It is an interesting subject. I am glad that your desk is cleared and that spring is on your doorstep. (Autumn here, so I am stocking up on the photos to get me through the winter)

I took the liberty to test "Pam's" noise removal action and posted a WS. Its an alternative to NI. Please tell me what you think of it.

Excellent shot. Composition is nice and the bird is nice and fluffy! :) Details are sharp and POV & DOF are good. There's some noise in the BG though. TFS!

Bente, I like the pose and you have composed it well. Nice details, great note - Thanx!

Very nice shot
Toni

Oh yes, they are cute for sure. - Very nice capture Bente. The pose is very good and cute, the colours are just spot on as well as the cropping/composition. It is a little noisy in the background but it is not really important. Light is handled very good.

I was there this afternoon and I figured that it was you who switched the empty nets.

Un trés bel oiseau que j'aimerai bien prendre en photo. Bonne composition, juste domage que l'oiseau regarde pas l'objectif. Félicitation et bonne journée.

Hi Bente Glad you are able to get out and get some picys, the new lens seems to work well, the detail of thefeathers looks good in this well fluffed up tiny bird, as you say the only thing missing is the eye highlight. TFS this beatiful bird that in my expierence never sits still.

Great picture, excellent colours and
very good details. I love it.
Well done!

Hi Bente
Yes, cute is there, and also a nice note on this little perisher. The new baby seems to behave quite well.
Glad to hear the desk is clener, now maybe we can expect some more of you, as long as it is no DD in white! Never saw them. But please stay, I promise you more rollers soon.
Regards
Callie

Bente, another cute and lovely shot coming from you.

Excellent composition, sharpness and pov.

As for the little noise on the background, I tried a workshop. I hope you like it.

Lívio

This looks like you caught it right in the act of sining, Bente! Very nice composition and use of light.

Hi Bente.
Beautiful and cute bird, lovely colours and details. Very strong composition with the red branch, maybe a bit distracting for my eyes. Nice work. Regards, Felipe.

This fluffy tit is so cute.
Your new lens seems to make superb shots in your hands, go on!
TFS.

Not a frequent one over here, just seen one in february. Never came back. So, doubly interesting to see you've catched a very nice one! Very well presented, sharp and detailed. Nice soft colors too, matching very well. Well done, Bente, and thanks for sharing.

Hi Bente, this handsome fella looks very puffed up. As with all tits I like them and this is no exception. You did well to get such a close up as I find they are very timid. Nice work.
