[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Pipistrellus pipistrellus and its sister species P. pygmaeus are the smallest bat species in Turkiye and Europe.
The two species were separated from each other in 1999 based on their echolocation calls, which P. pipistrellus omits 45kHz and P. pygmaeus, Soprano pipistrelle, 55kHz in frequency.
P. pipistrellus is named as Cüce Yarasa [TR], the Common Pipistrelle [EN]. It is very common in Turkiye and Europe. Its range in the Midde East arrives to Palestine and Suriye. It is found in the North Africa.
It lives settlements and forest edge also. In Turkiye, bats you see in villages and cities probably belong to this species. Up to now, no record in caves from Turkiye, may be found there for hibernation in winter.
It flies like a butterfly. It hunts insects, especially mosquitos often street lights.

Hello Amhet,
Lol, I really wonder how you do that. How can you see those fascinating animals so easily? I only see shadows of them flying over my head during summer nights. Again, you caught excellent details and even a catch light in its eye. It looks cute like this. Well done with excellent details and exposure. Thanks,
Claudine

Ahmet tebrikler , Yarasalar serin çok başarılı devam ediyor, yararlı bilgiler ve güzel fotoğraf , eline sağlık.

Bonjour Ahmet
Bravo pour ce cliché, les images de chiroptères sont toujours très rares. La note est très intéressante également.

Hi Ahmet, This is lovely. The BAT is very well explained and lovely to see them. I have one posting of BAT which I will post it tomorrow. In India BATS are common in the southern part of India and they are in 1000's in one tree. Your posting is excellent and daring. TFS Ganesh
