[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This butterfly photograph was taken at the last tonight after dark. When uploading, I noted that “although I am not sure, its species name: Maniola jurtina. Then, Peter Roos (batu) confirmed species name. Many thanks to Peter.
As for the species, Maniola jurtina (L., 1758) is called as "Çayır esmeri"; in Turkish and "Meadow Brown" in English and it is a member of the subfamily Satyrinae of the family
Nymphalidae.
The species has wingspan of 4-6 cm.
It is a common species, ranging in all parts of Europe (excl. Northern Scandinavia and Iceland), and North Africa (North Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia) and the Middle East (Turkiye and Syria) and eastwards to the Urals and Iran.
M. jurtina is found most of biotop, but its main biotop is grassland and it feds on grasses including Poa spp., Festuca
spp., Agrostis spp. Sometimes its larger larvae eat also Dactylis glomerata, Helictotrichon pubescens, and
Brachypodium sylvaticum
.
Hundreds may be seen together at some sites, flying low over the vegetation.
The review, I prepared, is from various sources, especially from Butterfly Conservation.

Hello Ahmet,
The focus is a bit soft but it is a dynamic pose and great POV. Your exposure is outstanding and the colors of butterfly are very rich and saturated. I think a very skillful composition. TFS
Ken

Bonito contraste de los brillantes colores sobre el fondo oscuro y muy buen acercamiento.
