Hallo Peter,

Hi Peter, wonderful Trichodes, splendid sharpness, great colors, excellent details, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Peter,
Not to late to discover this beautiful Cleridae, taken with fine details on a great composition, including the nice shape of the leave. It is not Trichodes apiarus, but Trichodes alvearius. The apical band is narrow and distinctly separated from sutural angle. In T. apiarus, the apical band reach the top. T. alvearius has also a large black sutural stripe. In T. apiarus, the suture in usually not darkened. (Réf.: R. Gerstmeier, 1998, Checkered Beetles, Illustrated Key to the Cleridae of the Western Palaeartic).
I just study this family thanks to this interesting book. Cheers,
